Reduction

We reduce the atheist position to absurdity by showing its necessary consequences: (1) If minds evolved purely for survival, why trust them for truth? This undermines the very reasoning used to defend atheism. (2) Without a transcendent standard, moral claims become mere preferences—but atheists still make moral judgments. (3) In a purposeless universe, the claim "there is no purpose" itself becomes meaningless. Each consequence undermines the foundations atheism needs to function.

This is a reduction argument: we take the opposing position and systematically show it leads to consequences that undermine the position itself. Atheism, when followed to its logical conclusions, becomes self-defeating.
