Journeys are not undertaken except to three mosques
Visiting for prayer
**Evidence for Visiting:** **1. Hadith (Bukhari & Muslim):** "Journeys are not undertaken except to three mosques: Masjid al-Haram, the Messenger's Mosque ﷺ, and Masjid al-Aqsa" **2. Hadith (Bukhari & Muslim):** "Prayer in my mosque is better than a thousand prayers elsewhere except Masjid al-Haram" **Rulings:** - Journeying to Prophet's Mosque for prayer is legitimate - For both men and women - Forbidden to journey specifically to graves or places other than the three mosques for worship - Can visit before or after Hajj, at any time of year **When Arriving:** - Enter with right foot - Say du'a of entering any masjid: "Bismillah, was-salatu was-salamu 'ala Rasulillah. Allahumma-ftah li abwaba rahmatik" - No special dhikr for this mosque - Pray 2 rak'ahs anywhere, preferably in the Rawdah **The Rawdah:** - **Hadith:** "What is between my house and my minbar is a garden from the gardens of Paradise" - Praying in Rawdah is superior - But if praying obligatory prayer, front rows have priority over Rawdah
