Seven conditions for validity
**Seven Conditions for Qasamah:** **1. Existence of Lawth (لَوْث):** Strong suspicion or apparent enmity - as explained previously. --- **2. The Accused Must be Legally Responsible (مُكَلَّف):** Claims against a minor or insane person are not valid. --- **3. The Claimant Must be Legally Responsible:** Claims by a child or insane person are not heard. --- **4. The Accused Must be Specified:** Claims against an unidentified person are not accepted. --- **5. The Killing Must be Possible by the Accused:** If the killing could not have been done by the accused - due to being far from the location at the time, etc. - the claim is not heard. --- **6. No Contradiction in the Claimant's Statement:** The claimant's claim must be consistent without contradictions. --- **7. The Qasamah Claim Must be Detailed and Described:** The claimant must say: "I claim that this person killed my guardian so-and-so son of so-and-so, intentionally" (or quasi-intentionally or accidentally), and describe the killing.
