How amputation is carried out
When the conditions for theft hadd are met and cutting becomes obligatory: **First Offense:** The thief's **right hand** is cut from the **wrist joint**. After cutting, the wound is cauterized (by fire, boiling oil, or other means) to stop bleeding and allow healing, preventing the person from perishing. --- **Second Offense:** If the thief steals again, his **left foot** is cut. --- **Note:** The cauterization/treatment is to preserve the thief's life after the punishment.
