Two sheep for boy, one for girl
**Sunnah:** - **For a boy:** Two similar sheep - **For a girl:** One sheep **Evidence:** - **Hadith of Umm Kurz al-Ka'biyyah رضي الله عنها:** I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "For a boy, two similar sheep, and for a girl, one sheep" [Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Nasa'i - sahih] **Note:** - "Similar" (mutakafi'atan) means equal or alike in age and quality - One sheep for a boy is also valid but two is better - The same animal conditions as udhiyah apply (age, soundness)
