Meaning of rada' and its legislation
**Linguistic Definition:** Rada' (الرَّضَاع) - with fath on the ra' and also permissible with kasrah - means suckling milk from the breast, or drinking it. **Technical Definition:** It is an infant under two years of age suckling milk that resulted from pregnancy, or drinking it or similar. --- **Evidence of Legislation:** Breastfeeding is legislated based on Allah's saying: "And if you disagree, then another woman may nurse for him" [At-Talaq: 6]
