Fidyah for Violations

**For Hair, Nails, Fitted Garments, Perfume, Head Cover, and Ejaculation by Looking:** The fidyah is one of three options (choice): 1. Fast 3 days 2. OR Feed 6 poor people 3. OR Sacrifice a sheep **Evidence:** - **Hadith:** The Prophet ﷺ said to Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah when head lice bothered him: "Shave your head, and fast three days, or feed six poor people, or sacrifice a sheep" [Bukhari & Muslim] - Other acts are judged by analogy --- **For Killing Game:** The hunter chooses between: 1. Slaughtering an equivalent animal from livestock 2. OR Estimating the value and buying food with it, feeding one mudd (or half sa') per poor person 3. OR Fasting one day for each poor person that would have been fed **Evidence:** - **Quran:** "Whoever kills it intentionally - the penalty is an equivalent from sacrificial animals... or an expiation: feeding of needy people or the equivalent of that in fasting" [5:95] --- **For Intercourse Before First Tahallul:** - Hajj is invalidated (even if done forgetfully, ignorantly, or under coercion) - Must complete the invalid Hajj - Must offer a badanah (camel) - Must make up the Hajj - Must repent **After First Tahallul:** - Hajj is not invalidated - Must offer a sheep
