Hajj Frequency

**Ruling:** - Hajj is obligatory **once in a lifetime** - Anything beyond that is voluntary **Evidence:** - **Hadith of Abu Hurayrah:** The Prophet ﷺ said: "O people! Allah has made Hajj obligatory upon you, so perform Hajj." A man asked: "Every year, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "If I had said yes, it would have become obligatory, and you would not be able to do it" [Muslim] - The Prophet ﷺ only performed Hajj once after his migration to Madinah **Consensus:** - Scholars agreed Hajj is obligatory only once for the one who is able **Hastening to Perform Hajj:** - Must hasten when conditions are met - Sinful to delay without excuse - **Hadith:** "Hasten to Hajj, for none of you knows what may happen to him" [Ahmad - hasan] - **Narration:** "Whoever is able to perform Hajj and does not do so, let him die if he wishes as a Jew or Christian" [reported in various chains]
