Why alcohol was forbidden
Allah has blessed mankind with many blessings, among them the blessing of intellect which distinguishes him from other creatures. Since intoxicants: - **Remove the blessing of intellect** from a person - **Stir up enmity and hatred** among believers - **Divert from prayer** and remembrance of Allah ...the Lawgiver forbade them. --- **Khamr is Extremely Dangerous:** Its danger is great and its harm is severe. It is Satan's vehicle that he rides to harm Muslims. **Evidence:** Allah says: "Satan only wants to cause between you animosity and hatred through intoxicants and gambling, and to avert you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer" [Al-Ma'idah: 91].
