Four conditions for li'an to be valid
**Four Conditions for Valid Li'an:** 1. **Between Married Couple:** It must be between two spouses who are legally responsible (adult and sane). This is based on Allah's saying: "And those who accuse their wives..." [An-Nur: 6] 2. **Accusation of Adultery:** The man must accuse his wife of adultery, such as saying: "You adulteress," or "I saw you committing adultery," or "You committed adultery." 3. **Wife's Denial:** The woman must deny the husband's accusation, and this denial must continue until the completion of the li'an. 4. **Ruling by a Judge:** The li'an must be completed by the ruling of a judge (in a court setting).
