**Sunnah:** - Call adhan in the newborn's ear at birth - Some say: adhan in the right ear, iqamah in the left ear **Evidence:** - **Hadith of Abu Rafi' رضي الله عنه:** "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ call adhan for prayer in the ear of al-Hasan ibn Ali when Fatimah gave birth to him" [Tirmidhi - hasan sahih]
