Bathing, grooming, and entering ihram
When reaching the miqat, it is recommended to: **1. Bathing (Ghusl):** - Full body wash **2. Grooming:** - Take what needs to be taken of hair (armpits, pubic area, mustache) - Trim nails **3. Remove Regular Clothes:** - Men remove fitted garments - Women wear any modest clothing **4. Apply Perfume:** - On body (not on ihram garments) before entering ihram **5. Wear Ihram Garments (Men):** - Izar (lower garment) and Rida' (upper garment) - Clean and preferably white **6. Make Intention:** - Face the Qiblah - Say: "Allahumma hadhihi Hajjah, la riya'a fiha wa la sum'ah" (O Allah, this is a pilgrimage with no showing off) - Specify the rite: Hajj only (Ifrad), Umrah only, or both (Qiran), or Umrah then Hajj (Tamattu') **7. Stipulation (if fearing obstruction):** - Say: "Fa in habasani habis, fa mahalli haythu habastani" (If anything prevents me, my place of exiting ihram is where I am prevented)
