**When Insulted or Provoked:** - Say: "I am fasting" (either aloud or to oneself) - Do not respond with insults **Evidence:** - **Hadith:** "When one of you is fasting, let him not use obscene language nor act ignorantly. If someone insults or fights him, let him say: I am fasting" [Bukhari & Muslim] **Purpose:** - Reminder to oneself - Warning to the aggressor - Protection of the fast's reward
