Recommended fasts beyond Ramadan
From Allah's wisdom and mercy is that He legislated voluntary acts that parallel the obligatory ones. This provides: 1. **Increased reward** for those who perform them 2. **Compensation** for any deficiency in the obligatory acts **Hadith:** "The obligatory acts will be completed from the voluntary acts on the Day of Judgment."
Six Days of Shawwal
Whoever fasts Ramadan then follows it with six from Shawwal, it is like fasting the entire year
