**Ruling:** - Cupping breaks the fast for both the cupper and the one being cupped - **Hadith:** "The cupper and the one cupped have both broken their fast" [Abu Dawud, Ibn Khuzaymah - authenticated] **Exception for the Cupper:** - If using modern equipment (no suction by mouth), the cupper's fast is not broken **Similar to Cupping:** - Phlebotomy (fasd - opening a vein) - Blood donation **What Does NOT Break the Fast:** - Blood from wounds - Tooth extraction bleeding - Nosebleeds - These are not cupping nor similar to it
