Camels, cattle, and sheep/goats
**Definition:** Bahimat al-An'am = Camels, Cattle (including buffalo), Sheep & Goats. **Conditions for Obligation:** **1. Reaching Nisab:** - Camels: 5 - Cattle: 30 - Sheep/Goats: 40 **Hadith:** "No charity in less than 5 dhud (camels)" [Bukhari & Muslim] **Hadith:** "Take from cattle: from every 30 a tabi', from every 40 a musinnah" [Abu Dawud] **Hadith:** "If a man's grazing sheep are less than 40, no charity is due" [Bukhari] **2. Passage of Full Year (Hawl):** **Hadith:** "No Zakat on wealth until a year passes" [Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah] **3. Must be Grazing (Sa'imah):** - Grazes on naturally-growing pasture most of the year - **Hadith:** "In grazing sheep from 40 to 120: one sheep" [Bukhari] - **Hadith:** "In every 40 grazing camels: one bint labun" [Abu Dawud] - If hand-fed more than half the year → not sa'imah → no Zakat
