When to slaughter the sacrifice
**Beginning:** - After the Eid prayer for those who prayed it - After sunrise on Eid day by the duration of two rak'ahs and two khutbahs for those who didn't pray **Evidence:** - **Hadith of al-Bara' ibn 'Azib رضي الله عنه:** The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever prays our prayer and sacrifices our sacrifice has performed the sacrifice correctly. Whoever slaughters before the prayer, let him replace it with another" [Bukhari & Muslim] **End:** - Sunset on the last day of Tashriq (13th Dhul Hijjah) - **Hadith of Jubayr ibn Mut'im رضي الله عنه:** The Prophet ﷺ said: "All the Days of Tashriq are days of slaughter" [Ahmad, Bayhaqi, Ibn Hibban] **Best Time:** - Immediately after completing the Eid prayer - **Hadith of al-Bara' رضي الله عنه:** The Prophet ﷺ said: "The first thing we begin with on this day is that we pray, then we return and sacrifice. Whoever does that has followed our sunnah. And whoever slaughters before that, it is only meat he has offered to his family, not part of the sacrifice at all" [Bukhari & Muslim]
