Blood relatives are more entitled to one another in Allah's decree
Relatives who are neither fixed-share nor residuary heirs
**Definition:** Dhawil-Arham are every relative who is neither a fixed-share heir nor a residuary heir. --- **Four Categories:** **1. Those descending from the deceased:** Children of daughters and children of son's daughters, no matter how low. **2. Those from whom the deceased descends:** Excluded grandfathers and excluded grandmothers, no matter how high. **3. Those descending from the deceased's parents:** Children of sisters, daughters of brothers, children of maternal brothers, and those who connect through them, no matter how low. **4. Those descending from the deceased's grandparents:** Maternal uncles, paternal aunts of all types, daughters of paternal uncles of all types, maternal uncles no matter how distant, and their children no matter how low. --- **Evidence for Their Inheritance:** Allah says: "And those of blood relationship are more entitled to one another in the decree of Allah" [Al-Anfal: 75] The Prophet ﷺ said: "The maternal uncle is the heir of one who has no heir" [Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi - sahih] --- **Method of Distribution:** Each one of them is placed in the position of the one through whom they connect, and given their share. And Allah knows best.
