14 essential acts - prayer invalid without them
**14 Pillars (never waived - intentional, forgetful, or ignorant):** 1. **Standing** in obligatory prayer if able 2. **Opening Takbir** - "Allahu Akbar" 3. **Reciting Al-Fatihah** in every rak'ah 4. **Ruku' (bowing)** in every rak'ah 5. **Rising from ruku'** 6. **Standing upright** after ruku' 7. **Sujud (prostration)** twice per rak'ah on 7 bones 8. **Rising from sujud** 9. **Sitting between the two sujuds** 10. **Tranquility** in all pillars 11. **Final Tashahhud** 12. **Sitting for final Tashahhud** 13. **Taslim** - "As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullah" (right then left) 14. **Proper sequence** of all pillars
