Non-obligatory prayers that bring one closer to Allah
**Virtue:** Among the best acts after jihad and seeking knowledge. **Wisdom:** To complete and repair any deficiency in obligatory prayers. **Two Types:** 1. **Timed (Muqayyadah):** Tied to specific times - Following fard: Rawatib - Independent: Witr, Duha, Kusuf 2. **Untimed (Mutlaqah):** Any time except prohibited times **Order of Importance:** Kusuf → Witr → Istisqa' → Tarawih → Rawatib
Rawatib [Regular Sunnahs]
The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Allah builds a house in Paradise for whoever prays 12 rak'ahs daily'
Witr Prayer
The Prophet ﷺ said: 'O people of the Quran, pray witr, for Allah is Witr and loves witr'
Prohibited Prayer Times
The Prophet ﷺ said: 'No prayer after Fajr until sunrise, and no prayer after Asr until sunset'
