6. Sale Before Receipt

**Definition:** Buying an item from someone, then selling it before taking possession of it. **Evidence:** - **Hadith of Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه:** The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever buys food, let him not sell it until he takes possession of it" [Muslim] - **Hadith of Zayd ibn Thabit رضي الله عنه:** "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade items being sold where they are purchased until the merchants move them to their places" [Abu Dawud] **Ruling:** It is not permissible for whoever buys something to sell it until he takes full possession of it.
