6. Item Must Be Known

**Condition:** The contracted item must be known to each party by: - Seeing and observing it at the time of contract - Or describing it with a description that distinguishes it from others **Reasoning:** - Ignorance is a form of gharar (uncertainty) - Gharar is prohibited **Invalid Sales:** It is not valid to buy: - Something not seen - Or something seen but unknown to the buyer while absent from the session of the contract
