Do not sell what you do not have
Seller must own or be authorized
**Condition:** The seller must own the item being sold, or stand in place of the owner, such as: - Agent (wakil) - Executor (wasi) - Guardian (wali) - Trustee (nadhir) **Prohibition:** It is not valid for a person to sell something he does not own. **Evidence:** - **Hadith to Hakim ibn Hizam رضي الله عنه:** The Prophet ﷺ said: "Do not sell what you do not have" [Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Nasa'i, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah - sahih]
