Carrying & Burial

**Following the Funeral:** - Sunnah to follow to grave - Walk with dignity and silence - No recitation aloud - Women may not follow - Don't sit until placed on ground **Hastening:** - Rush in washing, shrouding, praying, burial - Don't delay or transport unnecessarily **Burial:** - In designated cemetery - **Lahd** (niche toward qiblah) preferred over **shaqq** (center trench) - Deepen and widen grave **Hadith:** "The lahd is for us, the shaqq is for others."
